Dance Styles
Tiny Tots
From 18 months up to 3 years of age. A mix of ballet, jazz, gross motor skills, play acting and music. Parents/carers attend with their toddler.
Dance Tots
From 3 years of age. A mix of ballet, jazz, gross motor skills, play acting and music.
Ballet Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus
Soft flowing movements set to classical or piano music. The best base technical style of dance to start with.
Tap Glen Wood Syllabus
A very rhythmical style of dance where the feet create sounds and rhythms on the floor with tap shoes.
Jazz
A more modern style of dance done to popular music which includes kicks, turns, floorwork and sharp movements.
Acrobatics AADA Syllabus
A style of dance incorporating contortionism, flexibility, gymnastics and tricks.
Song and Dance
Learn to sing and dance in the same class. Teaches musical theatre and characterisation.
Street Funk
A more funky freestyle type of dance which originally evolved not in the dance studio but on the streets.
Hip-Hop
A street style which originated from the Bronx in New York City. The most modern style at present utilizing hip-hop music and may include popping, locking and tricks.
Contemporary
A blend of ballet and modern dance. It builds a strong 'centre' and combines precision leg work with fluidity of the torso. Alternative and unusual music is often used.
Adult Class
A fun and social class where you can enjoy exercising and learning at the same time.
Pro Jazz Class
This is only for experienced dancers who have had at least five years good technical training as this level is intense. Students must be 18 years or over to attend this class.
Eisteddfod and Performance Program
This is for the serious dancer who wants to do more performance work. They can do solo/duo/trio or troupe work. See Performance Troupe section for more detailed info.
